About yesterday...
Maybe it was more than a day ago. It was the summer of a high school year. Dad was a mason teaching me the trade. As he was working, my attention was wandering. "Bring me that..." I snapped back to reality then ran to the truck and grabbed the small trowel he was requesting. Just glad that dad had brought me along, and even happier to be useful.
So it was more than day ago. I soon begin working for myself, unaware that this work would become my life's profession. Now years later, I am still working as a mason. I've learned the trade better than most and proud of what I do. I am grateful for the lessons my father taught me, and for the opportunities that have come my way. I hope to pass to my children an understanding of the value of hard work and dedication. I am thankful for every step along this path.
